CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The city of Chillicothe is reminding residents that despite the statewide legalization of fireworks, they remain illegal within the city limits.
According to city ordinance 1510.04, the possession, sale, or discharge of fireworks is prohibited in Chillicothe. The Chillicothe Police Department emphasizes that only individuals with an approved license can legally discharge fireworks within the city.
Residents who violate this ordinance will face a first-degree misdemeanor charge, which is a jailable offense. The city urges everyone to adhere to the local regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
