CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Guardian has learned of new details in the overnight stabbing of a Chillicothe man.

The incident, sources close to the situation told the Guardian, originated in the area of South Mulberry Street in the city.

The exact circumstances leading up to the stabbing remain unclear. Police are looking for a person of interest in the case. They want to question a local man, Dustin Welch, regarding the stabbing.

The victim was first transported to Adena Regional Medical Center around midnight. He was later taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he remains in serious condition.
