CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Adena Health System faces another setback as the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has denied them accreditation.
The NCQA’s accreditation program evaluates healthcare organizations that emphasize teamwork and technology in delivering patient-centered primary care. Adena’s application for accreditation in credentialing, which includes verifying clinicians’ credentials and monitoring quality issues, was denied and is currently under appeal by the organization, according to NCQA’s website.
This denial comes amidst ongoing scrutiny of Adena Health System, a local healthcare giant, which has been embroiled in controversy over the past three years. The organization has faced challenges ranging from operational issues to public trust concerns, impacting its standing in the community.
