JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — On July 14, 2024, at 8:13 p.m., troopers from the Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle injury crash on Limerick Road, just north of Big Rock Road in Jackson County.

Regenia Lear, 62, of Laurelville, Ohio, was driving a black 2014 Volkswagen Passat southbound on Limerick Road. Haylie Johnson, 19, of Beaver, Ohio, was driving a gray 2011 Toyota Camry northbound on the same road. Johnson crossed the center line in a curve, resulting in a head-on collision with Lear.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported by Jackson County EMS to Holzer Hospital in Jackson, Ohio. The scene was attended by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services, Liberty Township Fire Department, Bobst Towing, and Fletcher’s Towing.

Limerick Road was closed for approximately two hours while the crash was investigated and cleared. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident and reminds motorists to avoid distractions while driving and to always wear seatbelts.
