ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Ross County firefighters have been diligently responding to a series of fires over the past week, with several incidents suspected to be cases of arson.
The spate of fires began on July 12, with a garage fire on Page Road, reportedly caused by a transformer malfunction.
On July 13, firefighters battled a devastating blaze that destroyed a residence on Harris Station Road. Authorities noted the residence belonged to a man wanted by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office on serious felony charges. While the suspect denied involvement, investigators are treating the fire as suspicious.
The same day, firefighters were called to additional incidents including an RV fire on Cattail Road, another garage fire on Route 23, and a trailer fire on Clements Lane, which was found fully engulfed upon deputies’ arrival.
Each fire has sparked investigations to determine the cause and any potential connections between the incidents. Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
