WILMINGTON, Ohio — ABX Air Inc., an air cargo company based in Wilmington, has secured a major military transportation contract. The Department of Defense has officially included ABX Air as the 23rd recipient of a significant multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, fixed-price contract worth around $873 million. This agreement pertains to the provision of air charter transportation services for a wide range of domestic passenger, cargo, and combined movements at military and commercial airfields.
Contractors, including ABX Air, will be responsible for supplying all necessary personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and additional services required for the contract. The service areas include the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Mexico, and Canada. The initial performance period for this contract is from July 15, 2024, to September 30, 2028. The contract was awarded by the U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
