LUCASVILLE, Ohio — An elderly couple from Scioto County was arrested last week on charges related to child sexual abuse.

According to Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman, deputies and detectives responded to a residence on Eckart Road in Lucasville on July 19th following an indictment by the Scioto County Grand Jury. The indictment stemmed from an ongoing investigation into child rape.

Ezra Wright, 81, of Lucasville, was arrested and charged with six counts of rape of a child, a first-degree felony. He is currently being held without bond.

Carolyn Wright, 80, of the same residence, was also arrested. She faces a single charge of obstructing justice, a third-degree felony. Bond for Carolyn Wright is set at $10,000, and she is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court today, July 22.
