WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Adena Health System is moving forward with plans to build a new 65,000-square-foot hospital in Washington Court House. Scheduled to begin construction in mid-2025, the facility is intended to replace the aging Fayette County Memorial Hospital, which joined Adena Health in 2021.
The new hospital will offer a range of medical services, including OB/GYN, surgery, endoscopy, orthopedics, and gastroenterology. It will feature advanced technology such as robotic-assisted surgery, a progressive care unit, and a trauma room. The facility will also include amenities like improved patient privacy, parking, and an on-site pharmacy.
The announcement comes at a time when Adena continues to face mounting scandals.
Adena Health officials view the new hospital as a key step in addressing these concerns. The project is expected to support local economic growth and help attract skilled healthcare professionals.
While the new facility promises improvements, Adena Health emphasizes that quality care depends on the dedication of its staff. The design of the hospital incorporates feedback from the existing medical team and reflects the community’s agricultural heritage.
Adena President and CEO Jeff Graham said the new hospital aligns with their mission to be a trusted healthcare provider in the region. The community remains hopeful that the new facility will resolve ongoing issues and enhance healthcare services in Fayette County.
