AKRON, Ohio — U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott has announced the successful completion of “Operation Homecoming,” a mission aimed at recovering missing children in the Akron and Summit County regions.
The operation, which ran from August 19 to September 6, was a collaborative effort involving the U.S. Marshals Service, the Akron Police Department, and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Throughout the three-week initiative, the Missing Child Unit worked alongside local law enforcement to locate and safely recover 32 children aged between 13 and 18. Some of these children were found in Akron and Cleveland, while one was located in Washington state. This particular child had been reported missing by Akron Police in April 2022.
