WAVERLY, Ohio — The Pike County Department of Job and Family Services is running a limited-time housing assistance program to help eligible residents with housing costs. The program, which began on October 15, 2024, provides up to $750 in assistance for rent or mortgage payments. This one-time payment is aimed at qualifying families in Pike County and will continue until November 22, 2024, or until available funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.
Program Details:
- Assistance Amount: Up to $750 toward rent or mortgage payments.
- Eligibility: The program is available to Pike County residents who have a minor child and whose household income does not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
- Application Availability: Applications are available outside the Department of Job and Family Services office in a black file box during business hours (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM). The box is located near the dropbox outside the office.
- Submission: Completed applications can be submitted in person, through the dropbox, or via email to [email protected].
- Payment Details: The program will make a one-time payment directly toward the rent or mortgage for eligible applicants. If the amount due is more than $750, applicants may pay the difference. If it is less than $750, the remaining balance will not be provided as additional funds.
The program is first-come, first-served, and will end once the funds are depleted. Residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to take advantage of the assistance.
