CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Recent health inspections conducted by the Ross County Health Department revealed a mix of critical and non-critical violations at several popular Chillicothe restaurants. While some issues were addressed during inspections, others will require follow-up action.
Julio’s Pizzeria
Location: 1680 N Bridge St
Inspection Date: October 16, 2024
During a routine inspection, inspectors found a critical violation involving improper temperature of the wash solution in the restaurant’s mechanical warewasher. Despite this, Julio’s Pizzeria was commended for proper food storage, date marking, and temperature control. The violation was discussed with the person in charge (PIC).
Cardo’s Family Fun Center
Location: 1 Nancy Wilson Way
Inspection Date: October 15, 2024
Cardo’s Family Fun Center faced multiple violations, including debris accumulation in a pop dispenser nozzle, dirty walls and floors, and a damaged ceiling tile in the women’s restroom. The facility also failed to meet the Person in Charge (PIC) certification requirements. Corrective actions were discussed, and the facility has been instructed to address these issues. Notably, Cardo’s had previously failed an inspection in June of 2024.
Charley’s Philly Steaks
Location: 960 N Bridge St
Inspection Date: October 15, 2024
Inspectors found critical violations at Charley’s, including debris accumulation on the lemonade dispenser, which was cleaned during the inspection. Other repeat violations included unclean non-food contact surfaces and inadequate lighting in the walk-in cooler. These issues were reviewed with the PIC, and sample allergen notification documents were provided.
Golden Corral
Location: 1660 N Bridge St
Inspection Date: October 15, 2024
Golden Corral had several critical violations, including improper sanitizing temperatures in the dish machine, dirty food contact surfaces on lobby ice dispensers, and plumbing issues at a hand wash sink. While a complaint was received about improper pest control methods, the PIC clarified procedures and corrective actions were initiated. The facility is actively working to correct these issues, with a work order already placed for the dish machine and hand wash sink.
