JACKSON, Ohio — A man is behind bars today after an alleged deadly domestic dispute escalated into a dangerous hours-long standoff with law enforcement, during which he reportedly posted updates to social media.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Steven Kisor of Franklin Grange Road is accused of fatally shooting his wife, 38-year-old Tara Kisor, during the overnight hours of October 19 and 20. Sheriff Tedd Frazier reported that the incident began when Tara Kisor attempted to flee from her husband, who pursued her on a motorcycle.

The pursuit ended tragically on Four Mile Road when Steven Kisor allegedly fired an automatic rifle, striking his wife as she drove. The impact caused her to lose control of her vehicle, crashing through a fence. Tara Kisor was rushed to Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, where she was pronounced dead.
As law enforcement responded to the scene, Kisor reportedly opened fire on deputies before fleeing into a nearby field and wooded area, triggering a manhunt that involved multiple law enforcement agencies. Aviation units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with drones, were used to track Kisor’s movements, and a two-mile perimeter was set up around his location.

Throughout the standoff, which included intermittent exchanges of gunfire, Kisor was actively posting updates on social media, reportedly responding to comments on the events unfolding and his intentions.
The standoff came to an end around 1:00 a.m. on October 20, when Kisor surrendered to law enforcement without further incident.
Steven Kisor remains in custody at the Jackson County Jail, facing charges of murder and additional charges related to the shootout and standoff.
