JACKSON, Ohio — Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a local convenience store on Monday evening, just days after a similar incident occurred in nearby Fayette County.
According to officials, the robbery happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. at the Jackson Express on East Main Street. The suspect, described as a masked man, approached two store employees outside and demanded money, jewelry, and their phones at gunpoint. After obtaining the items, the suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot.
An alert issued by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office described the suspect as wearing a mask, a black and gray hoodie, and red shorts.
At this time, authorities have not stated whether they believe the robbery is connected to the recent armed robbery in Fayette County.
The investigation into the Jackson robbery is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
