If you were considering hiring someone and 40 of 44 of that job applicant’s previous colleagues advised you not to, it would tell you something, right? That’s the case with Donald Trump: 40 of his 44 cabinet members—people who worked with him—do not support his bid for president.

Trump’s Defense Secretary Mark Esper called him a “threat to democracy,” and former national security adviser John Bolton said he’s “unfit to be president.” John Kelly, who was Trump’s chief of staff, identified him as a fascist. Former Vice President Mike Pence has not endorsed him.

Republican VP Dick Cheney said, “Trump tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.” JD Vance called Trump an idiot.

Prominent Republican senators have echoed these thoughts: Ted Cruz called Trump “a pathological liar.” Lindsey Graham said he’s “unfit for office.” Mitch McConnell described him as a “sleazeball,” “not very smart,” and “nasty.”

Stephanie Grisham, who once served as Trump’s press secretary, said “he has no empathy, no morals, and no fidelity to the truth.” And here’s the kicker: Grisham revealed that Trump mocks his supporters. He believes they’re losers.

Talking about them, he famously said, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose voters.” Shame on Trump for suggesting his voters are gullible and stupid. Shame on them if they prove him right.
