CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the alleged theft of jewelry from a patient at Adena Regional Medical Center. On October 30, deputies responded to a report from a woman who stated that her two rings were taken while she was hospitalized for surgery.

According to the victim, she arrived at the hospital on October 24, where a nurse placed her rings in a bag and locked them in a cabinet in her room. After undergoing surgery and requiring an additional procedure, the victim requested her rings back on October 29. However, when the nurse checked the cabinet, the rings were reportedly missing.

The responding deputy noted that the nurse responsible for securing the rings was not on duty at the time of the inquiry. The investigation is ongoing, and deputies plan to speak with the nurse regarding the alleged theft. No further details have been released at this time.
