WAVERLY, Ohio — Reports of illegal dumping along Salt Creek Road and Red Hollow Road last week have prompted investigations by the Pike County Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutor Michael Davis announced that a response team retrieved evidence at the scenes identifying potential offenders. No names have been released, but charges are being prepared for filing in Pike County Court.
Offenders could face up to 60 days in jail and a maximum fine of $500 if convicted. Davis expressed gratitude to those who reported the incidents and encouraged continued vigilance from the community. “If you see illegal dumping, contact my office at (740) 947-4323,” he said.
To deter and detect further violations, the prosecutor’s office has installed trail cameras across public and private lands in Pike County. These measures aim to curb environmental damage and hold offenders accountable.
