PIKETON, Ohio – Low- to moderate-income taxpayers in Pike County can take advantage of free tax preparation services starting January 27, courtesy of the Workforce & Business Development Program (W&B) of the Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC). This initiative offers professional tax help at no cost for qualifying individuals.
The program, staffed by IRS-certified volunteer preparers, will assist with both federal and state tax returns for the 2024 tax year. Returns will be processed exclusively through a “Drop Off” system at the Community Action Committee of Pike County, located at 941 Market Street in Piketon.
To utilize the service, taxpayers must complete intake forms, which can be picked up at the CAC Front Office or the OhioMeansJobs Career Center. Fully completed forms, along with all required tax documents, photo identification, and proof of Social Security numbers, must be submitted during the drop-off hours. Submissions will be accepted Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The deadline for tax submissions is April 15, 2025. Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this resource. For more information, contact the Free Tax Program at (740) 289-2371.
