CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – For many students, education is more than just textbooks and exams—it’s about gaining real-world skills that lead to careers. This February, Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center (CTC) is celebrating Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, a time to highlight the hands-on learning, industry partnerships, and workforce development efforts that are preparing students for high-demand jobs.

With the theme “CTE: Building Skills, Shaping Futures,” Pickaway-Ross CTC is using the month to showcase the impact of career-tech education on students and the local economy. The initiative focuses on four key aspects: hands-on learning opportunities, industry connections, career pathways for adults, and cutting-edge programs that keep students ahead of industry trends.

“Career and technical education is essential to our community’s prosperity,” said Jonathan Davis, Superintendent of Pickaway-Ross CTC. “By supporting CTE, we are not only providing students with life-changing opportunities that help them enroll, enlist, or gain high-quality employment, we are also ensuring our local industries have a highly skilled workforce.”

Throughout February, the school is featuring student success stories, partnerships with businesses, and innovative programs that equip learners with in-demand skills. Activities include student showcases, social media campaigns, and collaborations with local employers to promote the value of career-tech education.

For students at Pickaway-Ross, CTE programs open doors to opportunities beyond the classroom. With a focus on practical experience, students graduate with certifications, industry connections, and, in many cases, job offers in fields like healthcare, manufacturing, and skilled trades. The school’s commitment to workforce development not only helps students build strong futures but also ensures local businesses have a pipeline of trained professionals.
