LANCASTER, Ohio — Authorities have released additional details following a deadly shooting Tuesday evening that left two people dead and two others critically injured in Lancaster.

According to the Lancaster Police Department (LPD), officers responded to a behavioral emergency at 1244 North Broad Street at 5:29 p.m. on February 25. Upon arrival, an officer encountered an armed male suspect, leading to an officer-involved shooting.

Police confirmed that two individuals were found dead inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. A female victim was also discovered outside the home with gunshot wounds and is currently receiving critical medical care.

The male suspect was taken into custody and is also receiving critical medical treatment, according to police.

Detectives from the Lancaster Police Department are investigating the suspected homicides, while the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is conducting an independent review of the officer-involved shooting.
