CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ohio University Chillicothe is gearing up to launch its annual “Kids in College” summer program, offering a rich educational experience for children from June 2 to June 13. The program, known for its broad spectrum of activities ranging from science and arts to sports and languages, aims to spark curiosity and foster lifelong learning among its young participants.

Ann Holmes, an administrative specialist at Ohio University Chillicothe, expressed her enthusiasm about the upcoming session. “We’re excited to welcome kids to our campus for two weeks filled with learning and excitement,” she said. “Kids in College gives children an opportunity to explore questions and find answers, discover new interests, flex their creativity, and have fun while making meaningful connections.”

The program promises a diverse range of experiences, with children engaging in activities like pickleball, scientific discovery, music, and even stand-up comedy. Participants will learn in small, supportive groups led by a team of imaginative instructors, including local business owners and college faculty.

The first week features classes such as Intro to Emergency First Responders, Intro to Ancient Greek, and Holidays around the World, alongside creative sessions in music and sports skills. The second week will continue to offer variety with courses in artistic exploration, sensory art, and a unique class on manufacturing accounting, highlighting the program’s commitment to providing a comprehensive educational experience.

Registration for Kids in College is open until May 12, with a fee of $38 per class. Additional material fees may apply for some classes, and commemorative t-shirts are available for $12.

For more information, prospective participants and their parents are encouraged to visit the Kids in College web page on Ohio University Chillicothe’s website. This summer’s program not only offers fun and education but also a chance for children to make lasting memories and meaningful friendships.
