COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Franklin County man has pleaded guilty to a series of armed bank robberies across Columbus. Hussein A. Mohamed, a 27-year-old resident of Dublin, has pleaded guilty to charges linked to a spree of armed bank robberies across Columbus.
According to the U.S. Justice Department, Mohamed reportedly confessed to carrying out three bank heists within a single week in April 2024.
Federal authorities say that on April 11, he robbed the Telhio Credit Union on North Hamilton Road, followed by two more robberies on April 16 at a Fifth Third Bank on Bethel Road and a Huntington Bank on North High Street.
Eyewitnesses and surveillance footage, officials say, played a crucial role in his capture.
Mohamed faces up to 20 years in prison. Additional charges against him include a mandatory seven years to life for brandishing a firearm during these robberies.
