WILMINGTON, Ohio — The National Weather Service in Wilmington, has issued a weather alert for much of the region this evening, particularly between 8 PM and midnight. Residents should brace for potential severe weather including damaging winds. Gusts are expected to reach 30 to 40 mph this afternoon into the evening. Additionally, one or two tornadoes cannot be ruled out.

The severe storm risk encompasses a wide area of Ohio, including Columbus, Cincinnati, the Scioto Valley, and surrounding regions.
Beyond the storm threat, the dry conditions combined with low humidity and gusty winds have also heightened the wildfire risk in the eastern parts of the state. Authorities warn that dry fine fuels could easily ignite, potentially leading to rapid fire spread.
Residents are urged to stay informed by monitoring local weather updates and to prepare for quick action if weather warnings are issued.
