CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A suspect in a late-night shooting at a Chillicothe bar was arrested Saturday evening, while two others remain on the run, authorities said.
Nycholas Jaymes Douglas Hutchinson, 22, was taken into custody by Ross County deputies at 7:25 p.m. He faces multiple charges, including illegal possession of a firearm in liquor permit premises, carrying concealed weapons, negligent assault, and using weapons while intoxicated.
The shooting occurred in the early hours of Saturday at the Hard Tail Saloon bar, located in the 800 block of Eastern Avenue. Deputies responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:15 a.m. reporting that a woman had been shot by a man. Medics rushed the victim to a local hospital, though her condition has not been released.
Investigators say Hutchinson, along with Noah Cameron, also 22, stole the victim’s vehicle—a red 2009 Ford Edge with Ohio license plate JSB 6258—following the incident. Authorities initially issued a statewide alert for an orange Ford Escape driven by a Black male with three others, but later updated the description to focus on Hutchinson and Cameron as the primary suspects.
Deputies have not released further details about the circumstances leading to his arrest.
The investigation remains ongoing as deputies work to piece together the events that unfolded at the Hard Tail Saloon.
