CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ross County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) has been awarded $91,214.50 in grant funding as part of a $3 million initiative announced by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to support local law enforcement in combating illegal drug activity across the state. The funding, distributed to 38 agencies, will empower drug task forces to tackle drug trafficking, pharmaceutical diversion, and related organized crime.

Governor DeWine announced the 2025 Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund grants on Thursday, highlighting their importance in the fight against drugs. “Ohio’s drug task forces are a major deterrent to those pushing drugs in our communities,” said Governor DeWine. “Their work is indispensable in rooting out traffickers and suppliers, and we are proud to continue offering this support.”

The $91,214.50 grant will bolster RCSO’s drug task force efforts in Ross County, providing resources for investigating drug trafficking organizations through intelligence gathering, information sharing, and multi-agency collaboration. Additionally, the funds can support local initiatives to assist drug overdose victims and their families with education, treatment options, and support services.

Since its launch in 2019, the Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund has distributed over $20 million to drug task forces statewide. Administered by the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services within the Ohio Department of Public Safety, the program is a key component of Ohio’s Drug Interdiction, Disruption, and Reduction Plan, funded through the state’s operating budget.
