CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol will operate an OVI checkpoint this week to deter and intercept impaired drivers, authorities announced.
The county hosting the checkpoint will be disclosed one day prior, with the specific location announced on the morning of the operation.
Officials urge those planning to consume alcohol to designate a sober driver or arrange alternative transportation. “Don’t let another life be lost because of the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired,” the patrol said in a statement.
Local law enforcement agencies will provide operational support for the checkpoint.
