BLANCHESTER, Ohio — Investigators with the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal have determined that a fire at Buckeye State Self Storage in Blanchester was arson and are seeking public tips to identify the culprits.

The blaze, reported at 5:46 p.m. on April 15 at 931 S. Broadway St., prompted a response from the Blanchester-Marion Township Fire Department and other agencies. Firefighters extinguished the fire, but one was hospitalized for burn injuries.

The State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigations Bureau confirmed the fire was intentionally set. The Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
