CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A woman reported being sexually assaulted by a man she did not know after accepting a ride in what she described as a “kidnapper van” in Chillicothe, according to a police report from the Chillicothe Police Department.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 12 when the victim, whose identity is not being disclosed, left a friend’s home on an unspecified street to go for a walk. While walking in an unfamiliar area, a van approached her, and the male driver offered her a ride, which she accepted, the report states. The woman entered through the rear doors and noticed two additional men inside the vehicle, all of whom were strangers to her.

The victim described the vehicle as a “kidnapper van” but provided no further details about its appearance, according to the police report. The group drove to a residence on another unspecified street within Chillicothe, where they smoked marijuana together. The woman also consumed an edible, which she said left her heavily impaired.

Later that evening, one of the men, described as a Black male, took her to an unknown room in the home and locked the door, the report states. The victim alleged that the man removed her clothes, began “licking” her, and proceeded to have sex with her while she was too impaired to resist.

The woman reported the incident to police the next day after seeking medical attention at Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe, where officers were dispatched to take her statement.

The Chillicothe Police Department is investigating the incident, but no further details about suspects or arrests were included in the report.

A DNA rape kit was done and has been sent to a state lab for comparison among a database of known DNA markers.
