CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A tense and chaotic scene unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday morning when a Chillicothe Police Officer was caught in a dramatic shooting incident in the 300 block of East Main Street at approximately 1:00 AM. The confrontation left the city on edge as one officer and a male suspect were both rushed to Adena Regional Medical Center with injuries.
The officer, whose identity remains undisclosed, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is receiving treatment. The male suspect, whose name has not been released, suffered serious injuries and was later transferred to Grant Hospital in Columbus for advanced care. Authorities have not clarified whether the officer was struck by gunfire or who discharged their weapon. The events leading up to the encounter remain unreleased.
At the request of the Chillicothe Police Department, the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) has taken the reins of the case.
