CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ross County Auditor Jeff Lehner announced Friday that tentative 2026 property values for Ross County are now available for public viewing on the county auditor’s website, marking a key step in the state-mandated 2025 mass reappraisal process.

The tentative values, which reflect Tax Year 2025, can be accessed at https://auditor.rosscountyohio.gov. Property owners can view their parcel’s valuation by using the website’s Quick or Advanced search options and navigating to the “Valuation” section, where 2026 values are highlighted in yellow.

“This is the next step in our process to comply with the Ohio Department of Taxation’s mandates for our 2025 reappraisal while ensuring an equitable aggregate valuation, including market-appropriate commercial values, for Ross County,” Lehner said in a statement.

The announcement comes as part of Ohio’s requirement for counties to conduct a mass reappraisal every six years to align property values with current market conditions. Lehner emphasized that the values released Friday are tentative and subject to review.

“I strongly encourage every Ross County taxpayer who wants to discuss their proposed 2026 value to reach out, and we will ensure everybody who wants one receives a fair hearing as we move toward final adoption later this year,” Lehner said.

Property owners wishing to discuss their tentative valuations can schedule phone or in-person appointments with the auditor’s office during the week of September 22. Appointment details and a sign-up link are available on the auditor’s website homepage and at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/rosscounty.

For additional questions, residents can contact the Ross County Auditor’s real estate office at 740-702-3080, option 2, or email [email protected].

The auditor’s website also offers tools for property owners, including a parcel viewer map, sales report generators, and calculators to assist with research. Ross County, founded in 1798 with Chillicothe as its county seat, spans 693.03 square miles and had a population of 76,891 in 2021, according to the auditor’s office.
