CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A 2021 Chevrolet Suburban High Country involved in the crash that killed longtime community advocate Connie Meyer is now listed for sale at a local dealership, according to public records and online listings.
Meyer, 77, was struck while walking in a crosswalk on Nov. 18 alongside Gretchen Steele, who survived but was hospitalized with serious injuries. The crash occurred at the intersection of North High Street and West Water Street in downtown Chillicothe.

The vehicle involved, registered to Chillicothe Truck and Accessories, appears in a current online listing with over 83,000 miles and a price of $47,595. A VIN match confirms it is the same Suburban documented in the crash report. A CARFAX history shows the vehicle sustained functional damage to the left side during the incident, was towed from the scene, and did not deploy airbags. The title was transferred to the dealership on June 2, 2025, and the listing was updated in December.

Meyer was widely known for her decades of civic service, including time spent on Chillicothe City Council and leadership roles with various foundations and organizations.
One community resident who spoke with the Guardian expressed their displeasure over seeing the vehicle involved in the crash listed for sale so soon, calling it disrespectful to the memory of Ms. Meyer.
She was instrumental in preserving historic buildings, organizing veteran outreach at the VA hospital, and mentoring fellow advocates.
