CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A high‑speed pursuit through Chillicothe late Monday reached nearly 90 mph as deputies chased a driver who appeared to be in an altered mental state, according to radio traffic from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
The chase began just before 10 p.m. on Western Avenue and continued east toward downtown, with the driver turning onto Main Street and weaving through several side streets, including Sugar Street. Deputies deployed spike strips along the route, but the vehicle continued even after taking a direct hit, authorities said.
The pursuit then moved north on Bridge Street, where the driver traveled in the opposite lane of traffic before heading toward the city’s north end. The chase ultimately ended at North Bridge Street and North Plaza Boulevard. No injuries were immediately reported, and the Sheriff’s Office has not released the driver’s identity or additional details
