CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe City Council will consider a proposed municipal income tax levy, updates to fire inspection fees, and additional grant appropriations during its regular meeting Monday evening.
Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the council chambers, 26 S. Paint St.
Among the items on the agenda is a third reading of a resolution that would place a 0.2% municipal income tax levy before voters. The levy would be dedicated to street paving and construction for a period of 10 years. If approved by council, the measure would be submitted to the Ross County Board of Elections for placement on the May 5, 2026, ballot.
Council will also hold a third reading of an ordinance amending Section 121.14 of the city’s codified ordinances to update fire safety inspection fees.
In addition, council members will consider a first reading of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 73-25 to include additional, previously unappropriated grant funds from the city’s 2025 financial books. That ordinance includes an emergency clause.
Chillicothe City Council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Meetings are open to the public.
