DETROIT, Michigan — The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Detroit Field Division reported seizing large quantities of illegal drugs, firearms, and cash during enforcement operations conducted across Michigan, Ohio, and northern Kentucky in 2025.
According to statistics released by the agency, DEA personnel seized 147 kilograms of fentanyl, 432 kilograms of counterfeit pills, 1,658 kilograms of cocaine, and 1,054 kilograms of methamphetamine during the year. Agents also confiscated 324 firearms and more than $17 million in cash and other assets.
The division reported making 950 arrests tied to drug trafficking investigations.
Joseph O. Dixon, special agent in charge of the DEA Detroit Field Division, said the seizures were part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking organizations operating in the region.
Fentanyl and counterfeit pills remain a major focus of federal drug enforcement efforts. Authorities say counterfeit pills often contain fentanyl and can pose a high risk of overdose when users are unaware of the drug’s presence.
The DEA encourages the public to seek information about fentanyl and counterfeit pills through its website.
