COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested a man from Mexico after seizing 154 pounds of cocaine valued at about $6.3 million during a traffic stop in Madison County.
The stop occurred Jan. 23 at around 1:55 p.m. on Interstate 70 near London, when troopers pulled over a semi-trailer with Arizona registration for a commercial vehicle inspection, the patrol said. A drug-sniffing canine alerted officers, prompting a search that uncovered the cocaine hidden in cabinets.
The driver, 46-year-old Omar Gonzalez-Flores of Ecatepec, Mexico, was charged with possession of drugs, a first-degree felony, and was held at the Tri-County Regional Jail.
In 2025, the Ohio State Highway Patrol seized a total of 1,607 pounds of cocaine on state roadways, authorities said. Officials are urging anyone with information on drug trafficking along Ohio roads to contact the patrol by dialing #677.
