JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — A state Motor Carrier Enforcement Inspector was airlifted to a Columbus hospital early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle crash on State Route 32 in Lick Township, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred around 5:38 a.m. near the intersection of Township Road 254, also known as Kessinger School Road.

Troopers say Kenneth E. Plowman, 34, of Wellston, was driving a Ford Explorer westbound on State Route 32 when the vehicle crossed into the median. Plowman then traveled across the eastbound lanes, left the roadway, and struck a ditch, according to the patrol.

Plowman sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening. He was initially transported by Jackson County EMS to Holzer Hospital in Jackson before being flown to Grant Hospital in Columbus.

The right eastbound lane of State Route 32 was closed for approximately an hour and a half while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
