PIKETON, Ohio — The Pike County Fairgrounds has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the South Central Power Company Foundation to help fund improvements to its Poultry and Rabbit Barn ahead of the 2026 fair season.
The grant will be used to install two large overhead industrial fans as part of a broader barn improvement project. In total, more than $30,000 has been committed to upgrading the facility, with the South Central Power Company Foundation grant playing a key role in moving the project forward.
The funding comes through the Operation Round Up program, which allows South Central Power Company members to round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar — with those contributions pooled to support community projects across the region.
The improvements are expected to benefit approximately 500 poultry and rabbit 4-H exhibitors who participate in the annual Pike County Fair.
