COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus man was sentenced Tuesday to 35 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing an 11-year-old non-verbal boy with autism and creating and distributing child sexual abuse material.

Christian Toms, 47, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 420 months following a December 2025 guilty plea to producing, distributing, receiving, and possessing child pornography.

According to court documents, between October 2024 and February 2025, Toms sexually exploited the child and recorded the abuse. He distributed the material to others online who shared his sexual interest in children.

Investigators searched Toms’s residence and electronics after cyber tips were submitted related to one of the men he was communicating with online. A search of his iPhone revealed more than 130 files depicting the victim nude or being abused. The phone contained a total of 700 images and videos of child pornography.

Court documents show Toms also shared photos of other minor males in his residence and discussed grooming a second victim in online conversations.
