CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A boil advisory issued after a water main break on Belleview Avenue has been lifted, the city’s utilities department said, after testing confirmed the water is safe to drink.

The advisory was lifted effective immediately, the utilities department said in a July 16 announcement about the break at Belleview Avenue and Plyleys Lane. Officials said the department performed water testing that confirmed the water is safe to consume.
The break occurred on Belleview Avenue between Plyleys Lane and Cliffside Drive, and crews were on site making repairs, according to the city.
The advisory had been in effect for Brewer Heights, Hesswood Hills, Bellecreek Lane and Woodland Heights Apartments, the city said.
While the advisory was active, customers in those areas were asked to bring any water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or preparing food to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use. The advisory did not apply to water used for bathing, laundry or other non-consumption purposes.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas may have seen low water pressure or a temporary loss of service while repairs were completed, the city said.
