LYNCHBURG, Ohio — Highland County residents can drop off bulky household items for free next week when the Highland County Health Department holds its next Dumpster Day at the Lynchburg Sewer Treatment Plant.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at 303 Wise Road in Lynchburg, the health department said in a Facebook post. Service is first come, first served, and the department said the event will end once the dumpsters are full, regardless of the posted end time.
The Lynchburg stop is the fifth of eight Dumpster Days the health department has scheduled across Highland County this year. The program began in April with two sessions at the health department’s Hillsboro office and has since rotated to Bayview Cabins and the Mowrystown Fire Station. Three more dates remain after Tuesday: Aug. 18 at the Greenfield HCCAO office and two sessions in September back at the health department in Hillsboro, according to the schedule the department has posted.
This year’s Dumpster Days are partially funded by a grant from the RPHF Solid Waste District’s Community Clean-Up Grant Program, the health department said. The regional district, formed in 1989, manages solid waste disposal for Ross, Pickaway, Highland and Fayette counties.
The health department said residents should not bring concrete, rocks, bricks, batteries, auto parts, tires, drums, liquids, chemicals, appliances, electronics, hazardous waste or asbestos, all of which are prohibited from the dumpsters.
