HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — A Greenfield man was charged with domestic violence following a disturbance call in rural Highland County, one of several incidents detailed in the Highland County Sheriff’s Office’s latest activity report covering July 17 and 18.
A deputy was dispatched to the 12000 block of Rupple Road on July 18 after a report of a domestic disturbance. Following an investigation, Michael J. Puccio, 43, of Greenfield, was charged with domestic violence, the sheriff’s office said.
Also on July 18, a deputy responded to the 7000 block of Gibler Road after a report of an assault. The suspect had left the scene before the deputy arrived, and the sheriff’s office said the case remains under investigation.
The day before, a deputy was called to the 9200 block of Dade Road after a report that a person had made threats toward road construction workers. Following an investigation, a Lynchburg man was given a warning for disorderly conduct, according to the sheriff’s office.
Residents also reported fraud in two separate incidents during the two-day span — one in the 10000 block of Coss Road on July 17 and another in the 12000 block of U.S. Route 50 on July 18, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office also reported seven arrests or citations during the period. Nichlas D. Tillard, 37, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a domestic violence charge, and Gary F. Springer, 41, of Goshen, was arrested on a charge of menacing by stalking. Jan M. Chaney, 44, of Frankfort, was arrested for having weapons under disability. Bobbi J. Napier, 35, and Charles E. Miller, 40, both of Hillsboro, were arrested on failure to appear warrants. Travis E. Wardlow, 45, of Lynchburg, was cited for driving under suspension and failure to display plates, and Cheyenne S. Chandler, 29, of Chillicothe, was cited for driving under suspension and failure to file for annual registration.
Deputies and dispatchers handled 134 calls for service over the two-day span, including 92 law enforcement calls, 38 EMS calls and four fire calls, the sheriff’s office said. The Highland County Jail held 58 inmates as of the report — 49 men and nine women.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
