WAVERLY, Ohio — The Waverly Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of stealing merchandise from the Walmart store in Waverly.
In a surveillance image released by the department, the man is seen walking out of the store carrying a black rolling suitcase. He is wearing a ball cap, a blue-and-white striped button-up shirt over a white T-shirt, denim shorts and dark sneakers. The image is time-stamped July 14 at 12:41 p.m.
A second surveillance photo, taken about 12 minutes later in the store’s parking lot, shows a gray SUV that investigators believe may be connected to the incident.
Police did not detail what items were taken or say how much merchandise was involved in the theft.
“We appreciate the community’s assistance in helping us identify those responsible,” the department said in a Facebook post.
Anyone who recognizes the man or the vehicle pictured is asked to submit a tip, including anonymously, through the department’s website, Waverlypd.net.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
