MARSHALL, Ohio — A crash between a car and a horse-drawn buggy shut down State Route 124 at Herbert Road in this small Highland County community Tuesday evening, according to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office issued a traffic alert shortly before 6:30 p.m. warning motorists that the highway was closed at the intersection and urging drivers to seek an alternate route. The office did not release information on injuries or citations.
Marshall is an unincorporated community in Marshall Township, sitting at the junction of State Route 124 and State Route 506. Rocky Fork State Park lies about 2 miles to the north, and the Highland County seat of Hillsboro is roughly 7 miles to the east-southeast.
