HILLSBORO, Ohio — A Hillsboro man was arrested on a domestic violence charge and a New Vienna man was arrested on an assault charge among several incidents the Highland County Sheriff’s Office responded to over a two-day stretch.
Deputies responded to the 4200 block of North Street in Russell Station on Sept. 27 after a report of a domestic disturbance, according to the sheriff’s office. Following an investigation, Devon Knisley, 38, of Hillsboro, was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
A resident of the 12000 block of Cameron Drive reported a theft on Sept. 27, the sheriff’s office said. A deputy also responded to the 6600 block of Park Lane after a report of misuse of a bank card, an incident that remains under investigation.
A resident of the 400 block of Webertown Road reported a disorderly person on Sept. 27, according to the sheriff’s office. Following an investigation, a male was allowed to retrieve personal property before being trespassed from the property.
A deputy responded to the 300 block of Short Street in Lynchburg on Sept. 28 after a report of an unruly juvenile, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office also reported several other arrests and citations during the period. Jeremy A. Thompson, 36, of New Vienna, was charged with assault. Brian L. Backer, 65, of West Portsmouth; Melanie B. Hawk, 51, of Sardinia; Austin J. Barker, 29, of Waverly; Beverly S. Rinehart, 88, of Bainbridge; Jason A. Rinehart, 46, of Chillicothe; and Danna L. Steventon, 70, of Lynchburg, were each cited for speeding.
Deputies responded to 92 calls for service between Sept. 27 and Sept. 28, including 62 law enforcement calls, 28 EMS calls and two fire calls, according to the sheriff’s office. The Highland County Jail held 47 inmates as of the report, including 37 men and 10 women.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
