SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio — The Village of South Bloomfield will host a free Halloween movie night Friday, Oct. 23, screening Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” outdoors at the village’s Park Place complex, according to a post from the village.
The screening begins at dusk, with the program set to start at 7 p.m. at 5000 Park Place, the address of the village’s municipal building. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and snacks for the outdoor showing.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas,” the 1993 Tim Burton stop-motion film following Jack Skellington’s attempt to bring Christmas to Halloween Town, has become a seasonal staple for communities straddling the two holidays each fall.
South Bloomfield, a Pickaway County village along U.S. Route 23 just northeast of Circleville, has been one of central Ohio’s fastest-growing villages over the past two decades, with its population roughly doubling since the 2020 census. The village regularly hosts family-oriented events at its Park Place municipal grounds, including seasonal markets and gatherings throughout the year.
