WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Firefighters, paramedics and police officers from six Fayette County agencies converged on the 500 block of East Paint Street on Friday to respond to a fire, according to the Fayette County EMS District.

Washington Court House Fire/Rescue Department, dispatched out of Station 100, handled frontline fire suppression and scene command, the EMS district said in a Facebook post. Crews from BPM Joint Fire Association’s Station 400, which is based on Cross Street in Bloomingburg and serves the village along with Paint and Marion townships, provided firefighting support and helped maintain water supply at the scene.

Jefferson Township Fire & EMS, out of Station 500, provided mutual aid and tactical support, while the Washington Court House Police Department handled scene security, traffic control and public safety coordination, the EMS district said. Fayette County Box65 Scene Support, a volunteer support unit, assisted at the scene, and the Fayette County EMS District worked to safeguard firefighters’ health and provide rehabilitation for crews working the incident.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire, whether anyone was injured or the extent of any damage. Additional details were not immediately available.

The Fayette County EMS District said the multi-agency response reflected the coordination local departments regularly rely on for major calls, with fire crews focused on containment while EMS personnel stood by to provide medical care and police secured the perimeter.
