CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Two people were found dead inside a home in the 100 block of Waugh Road in an incident investigators believe was domestic-related, according to a news release from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the residence shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday to conduct a welfare check on a female resident. When deputies arrived, they were unable to make contact with anyone inside and launched an investigation.
Investigators obtained a search warrant and entered the home on July 7, where they discovered two bodies. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to the scene to process evidence.
The bodies have not been positively identified and remain in the custody of the Ross County Coroner’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, evidence indicates the deaths resulted from a domestic incident between the two residents of the home. Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The investigation remains active, and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office said additional details will be released as they become available.
