HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — Highland County sheriff’s deputies made several arrests and responded to a handful of incidents across the county July 27-28, including a probation violation, a juvenile riding a go-kart on a public road and citations for drug possession and domestic violence, according to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy responding to a report of a suspicious person in the 6500 block of Beechwood Lane on July 28 arrested Dana M. Baldwin, 49, of Hillsboro, on a probation violation, the sheriff’s office said.
That same day, a deputy responding to a report of motorized vehicles on the roadway in the 11000 block of Hickory Trail found a juvenile riding a go-kart on the road. The go-kart was towed, and charges are pending, according to the sheriff’s office.
A day earlier, on July 27, a resident in the 2500 block of state Route 134 reported a disorderly person, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office also reported the following arrests and citations from July 27-28:
Jacob R. Hyden, 41, of Hillsboro, was cited on charges of drug possession, driving under suspension and failure to appear.
Pearlee E. Newcomb, 39, of Hillsboro, was charged with domestic violence.
Trista M. Short, 37, of Mt. Orab, was cited for speeding.
Kade R. Rawlins, 23, of Bainbridge, was cited for driving under suspension.
Bobbi J. Napier, 35, of Wilmington, was cited for failure to appear.
The sheriff’s office logged 128 calls for service countywide over the two-day period, including 72 for law enforcement, 47 for EMS and nine for fire, according to the office. As of July 28, the Highland County Jail held 44 inmates — 39 men and five women, the sheriff’s office said.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
