HILLSBORO, Ohio — The Highland County Health Department said Friday it is running on generator power after a power outage struck its Hillsboro office, warning that some services could be delayed until electricity is restored.
The health department, located at 1487 N. High St., said in a Facebook post that staff are working through the outage and remain available to assist residents “as we are able.” The department did not say what caused the outage or offer an estimate for when power would be restored, saying only that updates would be shared “as more information becomes available.”
The department’s Hillsboro office is normally open Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It offers a range of public health services, including birth and death certificates, burial permits, child and adult immunizations, blood pressure screenings, limited laboratory and tuberculosis testing, and communicable disease monitoring, along with community outreach and referral programs. The agency also operates a satellite office in Greenfield.
The department asked residents for “patience and understanding” while it works through the outage.
