ASHVILLE, Ohio — The village of Ashville will close out its summer “Fun in the Sun” series with a Public Safety Day event Thursday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon at Ashville Community Park, according to a village Facebook post.
The event, billed by the village as the series’ biggest day yet, will bring out police cruisers, fire trucks, ambulances and a helicopter for families to explore, with local first responders on hand to answer questions and talk about their work, the village said in the post.
Children who attend will receive a free fry, and parents can purchase additional food from Mama’s Burger Bites, which is providing the food for the event, according to the post. Participating first responders will receive a meal ticket as a thank-you for their service.
Ashville is a village of about 4,600 residents in Pickaway County, according to U.S. Census figures. Public Safety Day marks the finale of this summer’s “Fun in the Sun” series, which the village has used to host family-friendly gatherings at the park throughout the season.
