CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The Circleville Municipal Court Probation Department honored Probation Officer Lacey Stevens this week for five years of service to the court, the department said in a Facebook post.
Chief Probation Officer Jason McGowan presented the recognition alongside Intensive Supervision Probation officers Kort Wolfe and Lily Thomas, according to the department’s post.
Stevens said the most rewarding part of her job is having the opportunity to help people who are in need or going through some of the most difficult times in their lives, and that she values being able to make a positive difference, even in small ways, the department said. Outside of work, she spends time with her family and friends and watches her daughters play softball and volleyball, according to the post.
“Thank you, Lacey, for five years of compassion, dedication and service,” the department said in its post.
The Circleville Municipal Court Probation Department supervises offenders sentenced by the court, which has countywide jurisdiction in Pickaway County over misdemeanor criminal, traffic and civil cases, along with initial appearances and arraignments in felony cases before they are transferred to the Pickaway County Court of Common Pleas.
Wolfe and Thomas serve on the department’s Intensive Supervision Probation caseload, a heightened level of court supervision under Ohio law reserved for offenders who need more frequent contact with a probation officer while they seek or maintain employment and complete required training, education or treatment programs. Offenders under intensive supervision typically meet with officers more often and submit to more frequent drug and alcohol testing than those under standard probation.
